my mom uses a WD box without issues...

the WD boxes seem to play any format, will play files over a network or if you plug a usb drive in it (we use one this way in our minivan).

well at least I got it working; I had to build the controller with my own parts, and I had to pirate the game because it was destroyed in shipping.
