Sad to see your business go omnedon. Was great to have a local specialist in retro hardware in Edmonton!

Thanks BigHab! You covered pretty much everything I needed to know, and tons of stuff I hadn't thought of (for instance I didn't realize that we'd need a vending permit in Edmonton - which we definitely do). Over the next few months I'm going to reach out to the collector and vendor community in edm...

Swap Meet advice?

Hi all - I've been thinking about setting up a game swap in Edmonton for later this fall. AFAIK, Western Canada doesn't really have swap meets, which is really sad! I've never done anything like this before, so forgive the very naive questions. Does anyone have advice based on their experiences eith...

Hey Syd,

How goes the preservation efforts with this system? I'd love to hear a lot more about it.

I played it for an hour when it was originally released - I'm not quite sure what to make of it. It feels like a standard Square-style JRPG, but the story looks to be fairly decent.

Guess that's a good reason for me to get going on this game again, and give it a proper review some day.

My ex started with a DS - had no background in gaming. I think she started with Hotel Dusk: Room 215 or Mario & Luigi Partners in Time. Something simple and fun.

Another good one might be Machinarium. Good, simple, adventure game with an easy interface:

D'aw, thanks for this. My first computer was a TRS-80 Color Computer 2... my sister and I blew an unbelievable number of hours playing Lurkley Manor, Dungeons of Daggorath, and Downland on it.

Hey Bighab, I have several of those. Off the top of my head, I think I have:
- Phantasmagoria 1 and 2
- Shivers
- David Wolf Secret Agent
- Johnny Castaway

Probably a couple more too. Send me a PM and I'll dig into my PC collection.

My favourite Kijiji experience was last week - a woman wanted to buy a telescope from me for her husband's birthday. 13 e-mails later, she scheduled to meet on the west side of the city at 6pm. Around 5pm, I got an e-mail saying that her car had "broken down" and was waiting for her husban...

Run the diagnostics on the RAM a couple of times, it might clear some of the errors. (I have constant GSP Timeout errors on my original boards.) Sometimes this helps. The other thing that helps is just run the original stunt track... mine will run the original stunt track just fine but then go into...

A few years back I tried to sell mine and no one would bite. Too big and heavy I guess. I kept the boards for Davester since they were fully working and the rest went to the land fill. I regret it every time I think about it. :( I thought the yellow Race Driven cab was the upgrade with multiple tra...
