Oh yeah

I hate being in that boat - new project, and I hate having to wait for t-molding to finish it. After a few of those, I ended up just ordering a ton of it from http://www.t-molding.com/store/home.php (every so often they have specials where it is around 0.22/ft for 100ft, and shipping is cheap) - sti...

Flyback transformer caught on fire

Anyone seen this before? Yesterday, after about 20 minutes of playing, the flyback transformer in my '78 Space Invaders cocktail made about half a dozen loud electrical pop sounds and then started on fire. Luckily the fire didn't last more than about 15 seconds, but it filled the house up with smoke...

Dealio

Depends on what it looks like and whether the guy put much effort into it. If it is a well-made repo of a Midway cocktail that is nicely detailed, with new glass, and clean wiring, $950 is a fair price since the materials and time alone to build those are worth that at least. However, if it is an ol...

Awesome!

That is awesome! Chances are that sign wasn't put up by Funspot, but by Billy Mitchell (who is in the right of the picture) and his posse. Billy isn't a fan of Canadians - in the book "Supercade", Van Burnham says that Billy "felt that the Canadians were Johnny-come-latelys and needed...

:-)

SErvice GAmes all the way.....well....until the late 1990s at least.

Remember the lyric from the song "Jump Around" by House Of Pain: Try to play me out like, as if my name was Sega.

A not-so-subtle reference to how they were getting crushed by the competition....

More on Twin Galaxies

Twin Galaxies favors Funspot in NH for live performances of arcade records (like on the movie "The King of Kong"). However, check out the sign in the left of this photo of Funspot in 2000 to see how welcome Canadians are to their private boys club: http://triosdevelopers.com/jason.eckert/s...

Found this while browsing the old Information Superhighway

http://twistedlinguistiks.tripod.com/superchip/index.htm I grew up in the K-W area, so I remember the places this guy is talking about. But does anyone recall anything about the "super chip" enhancement for Street Fighter II that he talks about? Or is it just an urban legend....or somethin...
