have you ever played fatal fury, world heroes, samurai shodown in the
arcades?? you played the Neo Geo MVS
SNK released a home version fo their arcade hardware (The Neo Geo AES) in the early 90s if memory serves me
right. The AES is an exact replica of the Arcade mahine, delivering the same games, at the same great quality... it's just too bad the carts aren't
compatible.
So all i all a great system, very expensive (MIB about 400US), and at 80$ the best steal one can find..
Now that SNK Paymore is
back out they are still actively developing games for the MVS and AES... so the system isn't actually dead...Their fan based is world wide and has cult like
status.
So Omnedon got the best find of the year to date. Congrats Omne

I sold a Neo Geo for a friend on ebay about 2 years
ago. I had the
thing for a month. Good graphics and arcade quality games of course!
The problem was the games. All he had were fighting games which
bore
me to tears. I enjoy the odd Tekken match but I play more games by
myself so it has little appeal. It seemed all the cool games on the Neo
Geo
were very expensive IMHO its more for hardcore fighting
fans than anyone else.

Actually, AES IS dead. There are
(unofficially) no more plans to release any more AES games after KoF 2K3 next month.
MVS will most likely be dead in the next 2-3 years at the
most, as SNK is talking with Sammy about publishing new games on Sammy's Atomiswave arcade board.
