Easy to hack Nintendo handheld to play MAME on the go

Postby CanadianRyGuy » Thu Nov 09, 2017 3:13 pm

I've been looking into getting a Nintendo handheld (3DS/2DS/DS/Whatever) simply to load up Homebrew on a play MAME on the go with proper controls etc. I'm not into this scene at all, but was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on the best unit to do this with. Looking for the best combination of cost, ease of hacking, and most modern/best specs/best screen, etc. Anyone here into this sort of thing at all? Or should I be looking elsewhere.

I think the PSP is better for hacks and whatnot. Why not just get an open Chinese handheld that can run MAME without the hacking?

Yeah, I've seen all those too, just thought I could get a used Nintendo handheld for cheaper and that the build quality and controls might be better. I could totally be wrong though...anyone have experience with the Chinese handhelds? Something cheap?

How much does a used PSP run these days?
