I bought Batman for the Genesis off ebay a while ago. Popped it into the console last night and was greeted with a blank screen. Cleaned contacts with 95% isopropyl alcohol, still nothing. Opened up the cart, used a white rubber eraser to make the contacts suuuuuper shiny. Still nothing!
Anything else I can do to revive it? Or must I relegate this cart to the retro gaming afterlife...

Re: Dead cart :(
If it has a battery, replace it. Test continuity between the interface teeth and the chip with a multimeter, look for broken traces on the board, reflow the solder on the chip, replace any capacitors on it... Other than that, dump the data with a chip reader and run a CRC comparision with a ROM dump off the internet but...might be easier to just ask for a refund.
Re: Dead cart :(
If it's the board that's defective you could swap the chip with another game, like a sports game that uses the same board.
Could be something simple like a bad solder joint with the chip.

Re: Dead cart :(
Thanks for the replies. I'm not technically inclined, so I will likely just give it away as a non-working cart.
