Hi Guys just back from the Dominican and need to work off all the food and beer? LOL
If anyone has a monitor in need of a tune-up or clean... for the next few weeks will offer it at $60 cash
This assumes the monitor is functional and just needs some tuning, convergence, purity etc.
I will evaluate and check the monitor out as far as caps etc. if it needs a tube rejuve if I have the right socket will do that to.
If the monitor should delete more then the $60 applies to the fix.
Please let me know by e-maail at Rick@niemandisplays.com.

Re: Spring? Special monitor tune-up
Just an update.
This seems very popular.
I have had 3 monitors in and back out already. Have the 4th one in the garage ( a Sony PVM) set for tomorrow.
I enjoy what I do and very happy with the results so far.
I am setting a side most of this week fo this offer. Some might be done on the spot as you wait others a drop off.

Re: Spring? Special monitor tune-up
The monitor on my Golden Tee Live cabinet (flat screen CRT) is making a weird snapping noise.
It is random, and I cannot seem to replicate it or make it happen on purpose but I will hear a random snapping/static zap. It is only a single noise, not consistent. Sometimes I will hear two in a minute, sometimes it won't happen again for a few minutes in between. The screen also flickers during this snapping noise.
I tried watching the back ont he monitor to look for arcing or static out of the flyback but I cannot see anything.

I want more games...
Re: Spring? Special monitor tune-up
So on the screen do you see a white flash when it arcs or a black flash?
This a hint to me as far as what is happening?
My guess is the area around the "Anode" needs a clean-up. perhaps others?
Take a dry cloth and wipe any carbon dust around the anode. This may clear it all up?

The monitor blips almost as if it loses power or something for a split second but gets it back, the entire screen doesn't fade off, it happens that fast.
Discharge the monitor, remove anode cap, wipe up dust around the anode cap and re-install?

Did wiping the dust off fix it?
